the 1000 Islands

a few trees as seen from my campsite. there wasn't much of a view. The rest of the campground was great though. I already have sites picked out for next time :)
I lost a bit of color on the scan, but the bottom one is unfinished. I took some photos to possibly finish but knowing me....it will stay this way.

pears from work

the one on the right needed to have the leaves re-worked a bit...but i already moved on to the next sketch :)

and finally...waiting in the airport

It seems like we are waiting a lot more than we used to at airports lately. The flight home was delayed about an hour and a half. I wonder what this is all about. Is it because they can???
anywho, it could have been much worse. At least I got home the night i was supposed to. I could have been stuck overnight I suppose.

waiting on the plane...

There seemed to be some sort of problem with the brand new Jetblue plane. So we sat at the gate for a bit. As usual i'm glad I had my sketchbook.

Waiting for chinese food

I saw this on the side walk while waiting for my food to be ready...it's a little washed out from the scanner.

Rail Station

Rachel and I met this past Saturday to sketch. Our second and last stop was at the rail station.
It's so interesting there. Old trains, railroad spikes on the ground and big old brick buildings.
This is the sketch I started. It's not finished just yet. I'm thinking about scanning /printing on watecolor paper. There are a few different things i want to try out. Maybe i'll post those...maybe.

Drawing in the car on the way to Boston for the holiday

07.02.08

I bought a "g" from an old printers set at an antique shop last week. I tried an old stamp pad but it didn't seem to work well. I then painted the letter with paint. Looks like I need to find a better stamp pad :) Then Riley wanted to help me draw...so there's her mark on the right.

A random Monday nights sketches

Railroad Spike / Spring

The first attempt at the spike/ spring i found down at the railroad station. I've found I needed more patience the night i drew this. I felt a bit distracted and definitely should have let paint dry between layers. THere's always next time... :)

Sketchcrawl

This was from the sketchcrawl. I could not find a scanner that would read the pencil. The one we have here at work did the trick.

on the way back

The scans a bit dark on this one...a little sketch on the plane ride back from the new store today. I was sitting on the bench seat across from Mark. You sure do get spoiled flying in a private plane. I am sure tomorrow's commercial flight in the cheap seats will definitely be different!!
Today was only the second time i've gotten to fly on the plane it so it's really more of a novelty than anything. I have to say not wating in the security line, walking right on the plane and being in the air in less than 5 minutes is so cool.

stones

This is the small wooden dish I have on my nightstand that has a bunch of stones in it. I got these years ago and they've always ended up next to me. Thank goodness I kept the sheet of paper that told me what each stone was and what it meant, or I'd have no clue.
