Bottom of my closet

I sat on the floor last night after a frustrating day and started to draw this. I'm not super ecstatic about the results but the act of making it made the day end well.

Hi Genine, I love your homey drawings. And the cafes you frequent, just something really cozy and comfy about all of them. See you in Rochester some time....What do you pack in your travel drawing kit?

It's a terrific drawing. I really like your art work. Isn't it nice how making art can bring us back to ourselves?

Oh I love your blog, this light whimsical style always warms my heart and makes me smile, it is these snippets of everyday life that surround all of us. Beautifully rendered!

Hi Genine—your drawings are beautiful, and the soft colouring is so well done. There is a lot of life in your drawings.

I'd rather draw my closet than clean it :) But, it's a lot to tackle either way. You did a really great job here.

thanks everyone for the wonderful comments!!

Joanie-
I only have one art kit. So it's both my travel and home kit. I carry a Lamy Safari XF, Hero Accountant fountain pen, a water brush, regular small brush, and a travel WN Cotman set. I use either lexington gray or black ink.
I used to use watercolor pencils but find this stuff fits in my small bag w/ room for other non art stuff.

Still one of my faves.

This reminds me of a painting a friend of mine did in art school. Only she painted the tops of the clothes hanging in the closet. I really love this. There's always something good to look at in a drawing like this. Keeps the eye going around and around. Great job!

Hey... this is really great. Nothing artificial about it. That is what I like.
