A quick sketch from a photo during lunch. i was using watercolor crayons and ran out of time. That's why only part of this had been wet. I kind of like it though. Photo info on the bottom of the sketch..jpg)
Rachel and I met to sketch the other night. Other than the crazy foot i drew on the page it was great :)
After such a frustrating weekend of sketching (which i am blaming on my cold) i had a good sketch time. Some small sketches from the Monday meeting.
This past Friday was "First Friday" http://www.firstfridayrochester.org/ . So I went to Spot Coffee to meet Rachel http://balduffington.blogdrive.com/ . She had a booth there where her awesome paper dolls where displayed and sold.
This is this some odd possible shrimp like light on the wall at Boulder Coffee. It's a bit over worked but it was fun. There's also a giant sacred heart light on another wall that I will try next time. I think i may give this another go as well...see what comes of it.
Got what errands I had to completed, and on the way home found the last spot on the side of the street to park before the bend into downtown. Drawn from the car on the corner of Monroe Ave and Howell Street.
The sketch above is from the all day conference i was in on Friday. Some of the items were things i saw in the presentation, others from what was around the room.
This is my new sketchbook. I finish my last one yesterday and hope to start this one tomorrow. Trying a new paper again. Canson 80LB CP, I was looking for something light with just a bit of tooth. We'll see how this one works.

With ten minutes left of lunch I sit at my desk , crack open my copy of "the illustrated life" which I have been doing during lunch the last week, when I realize that I could put the book down and get a VERY quick sketch in.
I've been wanting to try working on colored paper with white pencil. I remembered there was this old sketch book in the cupboard and decided to rip a few sheets out. So here she is with her grey hair. :) If all goes well I may bind some of this into the new sketch book.
